He we go again in Oakland. Pro-Palestine protesters on Sunday night again set up an encampment on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh in Oakland to demand action from Pitt.

“While the University displays its recent ability to take political stances in its unreserved solidarity with the people of Ukraine, the University has established there exists a double standard:

White European Ukrainians deserve solidarity and support in their response to invasion while Palestinians deserve silence and complicity.”

WTAE is reporting that one person was arrested during the protest - here’s what they said happened:

“Protesters did not have a permit to gather and were told by police they were not allowed to bring food or cases of water into the encampment. That's when the peaceful protest took a turn. Protesters were running past police, bringing water bottles in one by one. Police then had to intervene, and at times, get physical.”

In a statement, protest organizers vowed, “Escalation will continue until the University upholds its purported commitment to justice and equality.”

Check out this statement from organizers, which include its demands for the University. Those demands include divesting Pitt’s finances from “companies and institutions that profit from Israeli apartheid, genocide, and occupation of Palestine:

As of Monday morning, it is being reported that the protestors are there. Standing around.
