Watch: '80s News Anchors Lose Their Sh*t Over 'New Place Called The Olive Garden'

The other day, we asked oneBURGH Nation the kinda hard-hitting question yinz have come to expect from us: Where did you go to dinner as a kid that you thought was fancy? Our Yinzer-in-Chief was among a couple of those who answered, "The Olive Garden on Green Tree Road."

Of course, this was the 1980s, when Pittsburgh's fancy restaurant scene was largely limited to the finer chains - think Olive Garden and Red Lobster (c'mon, you know you'd still get down on some cheddar bay biscuits no matter how refined your pallet has become).

What we had kinda forgotten about was how people absolutely lost their minds when Olive Garden first come on the culinary scene, as evidenced in this nostalgia bomb...two news anchors circa 1988 raving about this new thing called The Tour of Italy, the decor, and that bottomless salad. Bonus: Those 1980s prices, cars, and haircuts.
